- doesnt look like a musician, looks like he belongs on top gun.

-high key lighting emphasises star quality

- expensive accessories connote r&b even though hes not conventionally dressed.

-Masthead: Vibe; convention to place star in front of the masthead. this tells us that vibe is a well established magazine and that usher has dominance and is important.
-Main cover line; we can tell because it anchors the picture and it is the biggest out of the other cover lines.

-Plus sign (+) is a puff to say there is more

-lower case "u" in usher to reinforce his brand where as the "s" and "b" are capitalized for soulja boy.

The genre that i will be doing is R&B because it is the music genre that mostly appeals to me. R&B is a abbreviation of Rhythm and Blues and originated in the 1940's. It is a genre of popular African American music and evolved from blues and jazz. British rock bands such as The Rolling Stones and The Who were considered as being part of the R&B genre but since the change and birth of Contemporary R&B (a newer form of R&B), artists such as Michael Jackson and Mariah Carey were the face of the newer R&B. Entertainment magazines such as Vibe, XXL, The Source and Billboard. For me the main face of R&B and the person who appeals to me is Rihanna and Chris Brown. They are very talented R&B artists and have been on the covers of the magazines I mentioned before.
