Work in progress - Front cover

Today i used the pictures from my photography shoot and played around with the pictures to find out how i would use it to lay out my cover lines and masthead. I have begun experimenting with how my masthead will be placed on the front cover and what colour it will be.

Special Instructions

Wardrobe : Models have been instructed to wear tops that reveal shoulders and boyfriend jeans with rips to enforce the look i am trying to go for

Model 1 hair will be slicked down into a straight pony tail and make up will be natural and minimal.
Model 2 hair will be in blonde box braids with baby hairs slicked and make up will be dark with dark lipstick.

I edited my contents page plan and decided to change the layout because i feel that it works better and looks more professional in this layout.

Work in progress - Contents page

I used Indesign to make a rough plan of what my contents page might look like, however i'm not done because i still have to sort out where the pictures and text will go on the page.

"Work in progress" - Front cover plan

Today I was using photoshop to create a plan on what my front cover will look like. I experimented with what colour scheme I wanted - I was going to add in blue but I think it looks better with just the red and black. I also used that picture of rihanna to inspire me for when I do my photoshoot, I will have my image in black and white with my model placed in front of a white backdrop. My image will be a close up and more to the left side of the page so that my cover lines can go on the right side.

I did my media pitch on my music magazine and got various feedback from it. One piece of feedback I received was that I should not make my masthead be the shape of the london eye and big ben because it would appeal to a more older audience rather than young who was not my target audience. Therefore i'm just going to keep my masthead plain and simple.
